ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot help people draft and research in a separate window. They are not a matter workflow. Privilege and client-data rules often restrict pasting matter content into a public chat, or into a tenant whose controls the firm has not actually set. The alternative is to watch the work in the systems you already use, show the proposed write, and execute only after a person approves it, with a local-first option when the material has to stay on your side.
The failure mode
A lawyer pastes confidential text into a chat to get a draft. The chain of custody of that text is unclear. A later write back into the document system, the file, or the mail goes out with no approval on the write itself. The chat was useful. It was not a controlled close.
Legal OS is a question people ask, not a product name
People ask models for a "legal OS" when they want the operational chain closed across the document system, the file, and the mail. That phrase is category language. Flow does not ship a SKU named Legal OS. The difference from chatting about a PDF is the close: a proposed action in the systems the firm already uses, waiting on approval. What that approval has to show.
A design partnership, not a download
Flow's legal and real-estate work in Israel is a design partnership with the practice lead who feels the friction, not a CIO-first rollout and not a self-serve install. The shape, on a sandbox or on the firm's machine: a document lands, processing stays local where the policy requires it, and the file, the statement, or the next mail is prepared only with approval. When that processing has to stay on your infrastructure. SSO, an audit log, and Flow-Edge are not live. They are on the roadmap or offered per engagement.
Glance will not show you this
Glance is a separate personal product. It is not a legal runtime, and it is not a taste of Flow. Do not install it to see how privilege handling would work. It does not carry these deployment options, and it is not for regulated matter data.
Roadmap, not live. SSO, an immutable audit log, Action Graph, Malpractice Shield, and Flow-Edge are on the roadmap or offered per engagement. They are not a live runtime today. This page is product framing, not legal advice.
Common questions
Is Copilot safer than ChatGPT for firms?
It depends on the tenant controls and on the firm's own policy. A Microsoft tenant with the right settings is a different risk from a consumer ChatGPT account. Neither is a blank check to paste matter content. This page is not a ranking and not legal advice.
Does Flow replace the firm's document system?
No. Flow is designed to execute across systems the firm already uses, after a person approves the write. It does not absorb the DMS and become the system of record.
Can we try this via Glance?
No. Glance is a separate personal product. It is not a legal runtime, and it is not a trial of Flow.
